Necessary kit

For your peace of mind, we advise you to pack your suitcase from the 7th month and recommend that you wash your clothes before you use them.

The day of the birth

For mum

• 1 pair of support stockings or socks
• 1 large-size short-sleeved T-shirt
• 1 spray bottle
• 1 pair of socks
• Entertainment (newspapers, books, music, etc.)
• Pubic hair trimmed
• No nail varnish or false nails

For baby

• 1 baby bath
• 1 complete diaper change (bodysuit, pyjamas, woollen or acrylic bra, fine cotton bonnet, slippers and socks)
• 1 sleeping bag
• 1 fleece blanket

After baby's nappies

• Allow 1 month for baby's clothes
• 4 sponge bibs
• 8 bodysuits (long sleeves in winter)
• 4 wool bras
• 8 pyjamas/1 sleeping bag
• 4 pairs of slippers/socks
• 2 bath towels
• 1 pack of compresses (non-sterile)
• 1 soft hairbrush
• Warm clothes for the outing
• 4 100% cotton "square" nappies
• Dummies (your choice)
• 1 pack of nappies

Extra nappies for mum

• 1 toilet bag + bath towels
• 1 ice pack (bought from a chemist)
• Loose-fitting clothes for the day (top opening in front if breastfeeding)
• Nightwear
• 1 PH neutral liquid soap

For mothers who are breastfeeding

• 1 nursing bra (1 cup size larger than usual)
• Nursing pads
• 1 pure lanolin-based nipple protection cream.

The products used for baby's specific care are provided during the stay and prescribed by the paediatrician on discharge from the maternity unit.

When leaving the hospital

• Warm clothing according to the season (pilot suit)
• Appropriate and safe means of transporting your newborn baby

The following are provided during your stay

• Mummy pads
• Milk if artificial feeding
• 1 pack of nappies
• 1 pack of wipes
• 1 pack of mild soap
